About the webinar

Inspired by the tragic 2019 fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral, this webinar highlights the critical importance of preserving cultural heritage.

We'll provide a forward-looking analysis of integrity assessment technology for heritage buildings, focusing on smart monitoring's motivations and objectives.

You'll learn about:
  • Accelerated degradation and aging of these priceless assets;
  • BUILDCHAIN's commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goals;
  • Essential technologies and knowledge required for effective preservation;
  • The role of data and smart monitoring in acquiring the knowledge required for effective preservation.

Key takeaways:

Cultural heritage & Technology

Why is preserving cultural heritage sites important and what role does advanced technology play in this effort?

How do cutting-edge structural health monitoring (SHM) tools and digital twin technology work?

Overview of methods for data collection, visualization, and utilization in cultural heritage sites preservation projects.

Trusted knowledge & Predictable AI agents

How to create verifiable digital twins of buildings with with OriginTrail Decentralized Knowledge Graph (DKG) and transform large collections of data into actionable knowledge for monitoring and preserving historic buildings?

How to leverage predictable and verifiable artificial intelligence (AI) agents to discover this actionable knowledge?

Real-world pilot demo

A live demo showcasing technology- and data-driven cultural heritage preservation efforts at Hospital Real in Granada, Spain through the application of state-of-the-art technologies:
  • real-time SHM,
  • digital twins, and
  • trusted AI powered by OriginTrail.

BUILDCHAIN: Revolutionizing Europe's building sector with trusted and connected data

BUILDCHAIN aims to revolutionize Europe's building sector with the power of the Decentralized Knowledge Graph and BIM technology.

About the BUILDCHAIN webinar series

Modern countries generate an incomparable amount of data and information about the building stock, such as 3D geometry data, operational information, measurements, etc. These data are usually lost or unused, unstructured, and not updated.
In the BUILDCHAIN webinar series you will learn about innovative technologies and approaches on how to connect and use this data to create actionable knowledge that will change the way we design, construct, and maintain our buildings.

About the BUILDCHAIN project

BUILDCHAIN will create a scalable BIM-based decentralized knowledge platform to digitally identify, register, update, and analyze massive amounts of data related to the overall life-cycle of buildings. It will leverage the Origin Trail Decentralized Knowledge Graph to achieve this.
It will also design and develop its own Digital Building Logbook solution for the integration of building data and knowledge, and the inclusion of new applications and functionalities dealing with integrated information, efficiency, circularity, and transparency to improve the building stock, facilitate informed decision making and its validation.
BUILDCHAIN has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation program under grant agreement no. 101092052.
